Ghana prepares to reopen Mission in Ireland – Foreign Affairs Ministry
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Ghana is preparing to reopen its diplomatic mission in Ireland as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and deepen cooperation with the European country.
The Ministry disclosed this in a statement following a meeting between the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, James Gyakye Quayson, and the Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps in Dublin and Morocco’s Ambassador to Ireland, Dr Lahcen Mahraoui.
The meeting formed part of Mr Quayson’s official working visit to Ireland ahead of the planned reopening of Ghana’s mission in the country.
During the engagement, the two officials exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and discussed opportunities to strengthen diplomatic relations between Ghana and Ireland.
They also explored ways to deepen cooperation among members of the diplomatic community in Ireland.
According to the Ministry, the engagement reflects Ghana’s commitment to constructive dialogue, collaboration and stronger diplomatic partnerships in pursuit of shared interests.
The planned reopening of the mission is expected to provide a renewed platform for Ghana to advance its diplomatic, economic and bilateral engagements with Ireland.
