Felix Afena-Gyan has reportedly fallen victim to a robbery incident while away on international duty with the Ghana national football team last week.
According to reports, the Ghanaian forward’s residence in Italy was broken into while he was representing Ghana during the Black Stars’ international friendly against Mexico national football team over the weekend.
The Turkish-based attacker featured in Ghana’s 2-0 defeat to the 2026 FIFA World Cup co-hosts, playing 67 minutes before being substituted in the encounter.
However, upon returning to Italy after the international assignment, Afena-Gyan reportedly discovered that his home had been burgled, with several personal belongings allegedly stolen during the incident.
Details regarding the exact value of the stolen items or whether suspects have been identified remain unclear at this stage. Authorities in Italy are expected to investigate the matter as efforts continue to determine those responsible for the break-in.
The unfortunate incident comes at a difficult moment for the young Ghanaian forward, who has been working to re-establish himself at both club and international level after a challenging period in his career.
Afena-Gyan remains one of Ghana’s promising attacking talents and continues to be monitored closely by Black Stars technical handlers ahead of upcoming international competitions and the 2026 FIFA World Cup preparations.
