The Auditor General, Daniel Yao Domelevo, has directed lawyers for aggrieved Deputy Agric Minister, Kennedy Osei Nyarko, to go to GETFund with whatever grievances they have with regards to their client’s name being listed among GETFund Scholarship beneficiaries.
This was contained in a letter addressed by the Auditor General to the Managing Partner of the law firm Sarfo & [email protected], lawyers for aggrieved Deputy Agric Minister, Kennedy Osei Nyarko.
The Auditor General’s letter was a response to a scathing letter to the Auditor General following publications in various media of aspects of a Performance Audit report submitted by the Auditor General to the Speaker of Parliament.
The said report listed the Deputy Agric Minister among a number of top ranking government officials and Members of Parliament, as well as media practitioners, as beneficiaries of GETFund scholarship.
The Deputy Agric Minister has since strenuously denied having ever benefitted from any form of government scholarship. Consequently, his lawyers wrote a stinker virtually accusing the Auditor General of being biased, incompetent, and acting with ill-motive.
The Auditor General’s reply, couched in very civil and respectful tone, rebuffed the accusations directed at him by the Deputy Agric Minister’s lawyers, and directed both the lawyers and their client to go to the GETFund with whatever grievance they have.
