The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi, has been explaining why the NDC sees the 2020 elections as a Rescue Mission to rescue the people of Ghana from the untold hardship foisted on them as a result of the unmitigated cluelessness of the moribund Akufo-Addo administration.
Speaking in an interview on UTV a few days ago, Lawyer Gyamfi explained that the people of Ghana are looking to the NDC and President John Dramani Mahama to rescue the nation from the unmitigated disaster of the Akufo-Addo administration.
“The taxi driver, trotro and other commercial vehicle drivers, who were promised reduced fuel prices but are now having to pay more than they were paying under John Mahama, even at this time that crude prices have fallen drastically on the international market, are looking to the NDC and John Mahama to come and rescue them from the hardships they are being forced to endure.
“The people of Ghana who are experiencing increased cost of telephony and data because of the imposition 50% increment on the Communications Service Tax, are looking forward to John Mahama and the NDC to come to their rescue because John Mahama has stated quite very clearly that, when he becomes President, he will scrap that 50% increment.
“The people of Ghana, having witnessed the massive infrastructure development that John Mahama was embarking on to expand the economy so as to create more job opportunities for the youth, are expecting him to come and rescue the nation so as to return its development agenda to the path of rapid infrastructure development.
Noting that in the NPP’s 2016 manifesto, Akufo-Addo made a pledge to the people of Ghana that he would provide hospitals in eighty-eight district that were not having district hospitals; Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi observed that with just about six months left for his four-year mandate to run its full course yet not even a single one of the 88 districts can point to a hospital that has been started, much less completed, by the Akufo-Addo regime, “the people of Ghana are looking to John Dramani Mahama to come to their rescue. John Mahama has become known as the leader whose priority is in providing infrastructure that does not only help in providing comfort for the people but also serves to create more employment opportunities.”
Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi stated that the next NDC administration led by John Dramani Mahama shall introduce free technical and vocational training under the National Apprenticeship Program.
He explained that under the program, participants during the training will receive apprenticeship allowances to aid in their sustenance, and after completion awarded certificates as proof of undergoing training. Graduands shall as well be given startup capital to commence operations of their own respective businesses of their choice.
“We have retrogressed economically as a country in the last three years, but this government will not admit this because they cannot relate to this because they live in a world far from the harsh realities the Ghanaian people have been compelled to be enduring on a daily basis,” Lawyer Gyamfi stressed.
