Akufo-Addo’s family target betting companies to collapse in 2021

This network chanced upon a grand scheme hatched by the family of President Akufo-Addo to collapse betting companies in the country.

In a meeting held at his private residence last Wednesday, the family considered betting companies as impacting on the abysmal economic performance of the Akufo-Addo government. According to them, many youth across various parts of the country, and especially productive cities, are taken off their contributions to the economy as they mass up at betting centers in search for quick money.

The meeting which was held to review the next agenda for the Akufo-Addo’s government and family after the successful collapse and take over of banks owned by opponents, reveals part of the plans to ensure that hundreds of betting centers spread across the country, are shut down completely to ensure what they call “drive a participatory economy hinged on hard work”.

Ghana currently has a number of betting companies that are operating some of which include Africabet, Safaribet, Soccabet, 1bet, Supabet, Pawabet, Ghmybet which provides some sources of income to many unemployed youth while serving as additional sources of income to those who have some existing sources of livelihood.

The next Akufo-Addo’s government would consider a legislation, they concluded, that would render the operations of sports betting companies illegally in Ghana.
