The Paramount Chief of Atebubu, HRM Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Lawyer Godwin Kudzo Tameklo on Monday March 30, 2026. The visit forms part of ongoing efforts by traditional authorities to engage key state institutions and strengthen collaboration on national development matters, particularly within the energy sector.
The meeting which took place at the head office of the NPA, centred on strengthening relations with the Authority. Discussions highlighted the importance of cooperation between traditional leadership and regulatory bodies in ensuring stability, compliance, and effective management within Ghana’s downstream petroleum industry. Both parties acknowledged the role of dialogue in fostering mutual understanding and advancing shared goals.
HRM Ohempon Dr. Yeboah Asiamah praised the NPA CEO for his strong leadership so far in the downstream petroleum sector and encouraged him to keep up the good work. The Paramount Chief further underscored the importance of transparency, efficiency, and adherence to regulatory standards in maintaining public trust and supporting economic growth, noting that traditional leaders remain key stakeholders in community-level engagement.
In his response, Lawyer Tameklo thanked the Paramount Chief of Atebubu for the visit and emphasised the importance of having a strong relationship with traditional leadership in Ghana. He reiterated the Authority’s commitment to working closely with chiefs and local authorities to ensure effective regulation of the petroleum sector, enhance public education, and promote compliance among industry players.
