16 Government Projects Underway in Anloga District as Communication Team Conducts Monitoring Exercise

The Volta Regional Communication Team, together with members of the Anlo Constituency Communication Team, has undertaken a project monitoring exercise in the Anloga District to assess the progress and status of development projects across the area.

The exercise identified 16 projects spanning education, healthcare, housing, roads and sports infrastructure, with some already completed and others at various stages of construction.

The monitoring exercise was intended to provide the communication teams with first-hand information on the location, scope and progress of the projects to enable them to accurately communicate their status and potential impact on communities.

Education accounts for a significant portion of the projects identified during the monitoring exercise.

The projects include the construction of a two-unit kindergarten block with ancillary facilities at Tegbi.

At Anlo Senior High School (ANSECO), the team monitored the construction of a Science Laboratory Complex comprising six specialised laboratories for Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Agriculture, Integrated Science and ICT, together with offices and storerooms.

ANSECO is also benefiting from the construction of a two-unit KG classroom block.

Other education projects include:

• Re-roofing of a six-classroom block at Agorve;
• Construction of a three-unit classroom block at Akplorwotorkor; and
• Construction of a three-unit classroom block with a two-unit chamber-and-hall apartment at Sodzi.

The projects are expected to improve the availability and quality of educational infrastructure in communities across the district.

The monitoring exercise also covered healthcare infrastructure aimed at improving access to basic medical services in underserved communities.

At Agorve, the team inspected the construction of a CHPS compound, while Srorgboe is benefiting from the provision of a container facility for the government's Free Primary Healthcare initiative.

Another major intervention is the construction of a CHPS compound and a two-bedroom nurses' bungalow at Dzita.

The projects are expected to bring essential healthcare services closer to residents and improve access to primary healthcare in the affected communities.

Several accommodation projects are also being undertaken to support public sector workers in the district.

At ANSECO, the monitoring team inspected a teachers' bungalow comprising 12 two-bedroom apartments, as well as a separate two-bedroom nurses' bungalow.

A two-bedroom nurses' bungalow is also being constructed at Agorve.

At Sodzi, a two-unit chamber-and-hall apartment is being constructed alongside the classroom block.

The provision of accommodation is expected to help improve staff retention and ensure that teachers and healthcare workers are available to serve communities where they are posted.

Road connectivity also featured prominently in the monitoring exercise.

The team inspected the construction of the Hotorwovi Road at Atiehefe, as well as a 10-kilometre road project linking Kome and Alakple.

The projects are expected to improve movement between communities, facilitate the transportation of goods and services and support economic activity within the district.

The monitoring exercise also covered sports infrastructure, including the construction of an AstroTurf facility at Hogbe Park.

The project is expected to provide improved sporting facilities for young people and athletes while creating a better environment for grassroots sports development in the district.

The Regional Communication Team said the monitoring exercise established that the 16 projects were at different stages of implementation.

While some projects have already been completed, others remain under construction and are progressing at varying rates.

The information gathered during the exercise is expected to help the Regional and Constituency Communication Teams provide residents with accurate updates on government development projects in the Anloga District.

The exercise also forms part of broader efforts to document the progress and impact of infrastructure investments across the Volta Region.
