The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has requested financial and operational records from Sarkodie Baffour Awuah and Partners, a law firm where Manhyia North Member of Parliament Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah is a senior partner.
The request forms part of ongoing investigations into allegations including criminal conspiracy, causing financial loss to SIC Savings and Loans, money laundering and tax-related offences.
In a letter dated October 30, 2026, EOCO invoked Section 19 of the Economic and Organised Crime Office Act, 2010 (Act 804), to request documents and information from the firm to support its investigations.
The Office has asked the law firm to submit its audited financial statements covering the period from 2017 to 2025, together with evidence of tax payments made to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
The requested tax records include payments relating to corporate tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), levies and withholding tax.
EOCO has also requested a list of all bank accounts operated by the firm, along with the corresponding bank statements for the nine-year period under review.
In addition to the financial documents, EOCO is seeking copies of the firm’s operating permit issued by the relevant local assembly and evidence of its renewal.
The Office has also requested a list of employees working for the firm, if any.
The law firm has been directed to submit the requested documents and information to EOCO by November 6, 2026.
The request is part of the Office’s investigation into the alleged offences. It does not, in itself, establish wrongdoing by the law firm or any individual associated with it.
