President John Dramani Mahama has paid a courtesy call on former President John Agyekum Kufuor to check on his well-being and discuss national and international issues.
The visit took place on Monday, October 19, 2026, at the former President’s residence.
President Mahama disclosed the meeting in a post on his Facebook page, explaining that he had stopped by to find out how the former President was doing and exchange views on broader national and international developments.
“I passed by the residence of President J.A Kufuor this afternoon to check on him and find out how he’s doing and also discuss some national and international issues,” he wrote.

Photographs shared alongside the post showed the two leaders appearing cheerful as they met at Mr Kufuor’s residence.
Although President Mahama did not provide details of the discussions, his post indicated that the meeting covered the former President’s well-being as well as issues of national and international importance.
Mr Kufuor served as Ghana’s President from 2001 to 2009, while Mr Mahama is the country’s current President. The courtesy call brought together the two leaders for an engagement outside formal state functions.
