NDC releases timetable for 2026 Constituency, Regional and National Executive elections

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially released the timetable for its 2026 Constituency, Regional and National Executive Elections, outlining the roadmap that will guide the party's internal electoral process ahead of the selection of new executives.

The timetable, which has been made available to party members, aspirants, stakeholders and the general public, details the various stages of the elections, including the opening and closing of nominations, filing of nomination forms, vetting of aspirants, appeals processes, balloting and the conduct of elections at the constituency, regional and national levels.

According to the NDC, the publication of the election timetable is intended to ensure a transparent, orderly and credible electoral process that complies with the party's constitution and approved election guidelines.

The party explained that providing a clear schedule well in advance will enable all prospective candidates and party officials to adequately prepare for every stage of the elections while promoting fairness and equal opportunity for all aspirants.

The internal elections are expected to determine the next crop of party executives who will steer the affairs of the NDC at the constituency, regional and national levels.

The NDC said the release of the timetable demonstrates its commitment to strengthening internal democracy through transparent, credible and well-organised elections.

Party officials noted that adherence to constitutional procedures remains central to preserving the integrity of the party's internal governance structures.

The elections are expected to be conducted under the supervision of the appropriate party organs in accordance with established rules and regulations governing internal party contests.

The NDC has called on all Regional and Constituency Executives, aspiring candidates, delegates and party members to carefully study the election timetable and comply fully with every requirement.

According to the party, strict observance of the timelines, nomination procedures and deadlines is critical to ensuring a smooth and successful electoral process.

Compliance with these schedules is essential to guarantee a smooth, orderly, and successful electoral process," the party stated.

The leadership also encouraged aspirants to familiarise themselves with all election guidelines to avoid breaches that could affect their participation in the process.

With the timetable now officially released, preparations for the NDC's internal elections are expected to intensify across the country.

Regional and constituency executives are anticipated to begin sensitising members on the electoral process while prospective aspirants prepare to file their nominations once the designated nomination period opens.

Political observers believe the internal elections will play a significant role in shaping the party's leadership structure and strategy ahead of future national political activities.

The NDC has assured members that every stage of the process will be conducted fairly, transparently and in accordance with the party's constitution.
