The Youth Employment Agency has dismissed claims that it spent GH¢9 million on a turkey berries production programme, stating that no such initiative exists within the agency.
The clarification follows reports alleging that the agency had allocated substantial funds to support the cultivation of the crop. In a statement, Suadique Musah, Director of Corporate Affairs at YEA, described the claims as false and misleading.
He emphasized that the agency has not implemented any programme related to turkey berries production and has not made any payments of that nature. “No such programme exists at YEA; no such payment was made,” he stated, firmly rejecting the allegations.
He further urged the public to rely on verified information from official sources to avoid the spread of misinformation.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability in the management of public funds, noting that all its programmes and expenditures are properly documented and open to scrutiny.
YEA also warned that the circulation of false information could undermine public confidence in government institutions and called on media organizations and the public to exercise caution when sharing unverified reports.
It reiterated that its core focus remains on implementing credible initiatives aimed at creating sustainable employment opportunities for young people across Ghana.
