GFA to distribute 15,000 jerseys, 15,000 shoes and 3,000 footballs to Colts clubs

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has received 3,000 footballs from Hoshi International to support Colts clubs across the country ahead of the 2026/27 football season.

The donation forms part of a broader logistical support package aimed at strengthening grassroots football and providing Colts clubs with essential equipment to support the development of young players.

Hoshi International, marketers and distributors of X1 Energy Drink, presented the footballs to the GFA during the official launch of the 2026/27 Colts Football season at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

As part of the partnership, 15,000 jerseys and 15,000 pairs of casual shoes will also be distributed to Colts clubs nationwide, further enhancing the logistical support available to players and clubs.

In addition to the partnership, the GFA has announced a three-year equipment support programme under which every Colts club will receive 10 footballs and two sets of football bibs per season.

The initiative is expected to help address some of the logistical challenges faced by Colts clubs and ensure that young players have access to basic equipment for training and competitive matches.

The latest support complements the GFA’s own investment in grassroots football. The Association has been spending US$100,000 annually on the procurement of footballs for Colts clubs, highlighting its continued focus on improving resources at the foundation of Ghana’s football development system.

The 2026/27 Colts Football season is the sixth consecutive season since the system was revived and restructured in 2020. The GFA is seeking to further strengthen the pathway through which young players can progress from grassroots football to higher levels of the game.

The launch ceremony in Prampram brought together GFA officials, representatives of Regional Football Associations, Colts club owners, coaches, former players, partners and other stakeholders.

Former Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan, who came through the Colts system before embarking on a successful professional career, was also present at the ceremony.

The partnership with Hoshi International is expected to provide additional support to Colts clubs as they begin the new season while contributing to efforts to improve the identification and development of Ghana’s next generation of football talent.
