Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez are officially married, with the Portuguese football superstar and his longtime partner tying the knot in a private civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
Ronaldo, 41, and Rodríguez, 32, exchanged vows in what was described as a private and intimate ceremony, attended by their five children.
Following the ceremony, Ronaldo appeared to confirm the marriage by sharing a photograph of the couple’s hands, showing their wedding bands, alongside the simple caption: “C❤️G”.
The wedding marks the culmination of the couple’s long relationship, which began nearly a decade ago.
The couple’s wedding comes exactly one year after Rodríguez publicly announced their engagement.
On August 11, 2025, Rodríguez shared a photograph of her hand resting over Ronaldo’s, prominently displaying her large oval-shaped diamond engagement ring.
She captioned the post in Spanish:
“Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas.”
The statement translates to “Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives.”
The announcement sparked widespread excitement among their millions of followers and marked a major milestone in their relationship.
Ronaldo and Rodríguez share five children, who were present for the intimate wedding ceremony.
Their family includes twins Eva Maria and Mateo, 9, daughter Alana, 8, daughter Bella, 4, and Ronaldo’s eldest son, Cristiano Jr., 16, whom the footballer welcomed before his relationship with Rodríguez.
The couple previously suffered a devastating loss in April 2022 when they announced the death of Bella’s newborn twin brother, Ángel.
Despite the tragedy, the family has remained closely bonded, with Ronaldo and Rodríguez frequently sharing moments from their family life with their followers.
Ronaldo first met Rodríguez in 2017, when she was working as a sales assistant at a Gucci store.
Their relationship soon developed, and the pair made their first major public appearance together at the Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich in January 2017.
By May of that year, Ronaldo had made their relationship Instagram official by sharing a photograph of himself with Rodríguez.
Their relationship has since become one of the most closely followed celebrity romances in the world.
In Rodríguez’s 2022 Netflix reality series, I Am Georgina, Ronaldo reflected on how their relationship developed.
The football star admitted that he did not initially expect their romance to become a long-term relationship.
He described Rodríguez as a “very interesting girl” who appeared more mature than her age.
Ronaldo said he eventually realised that his feelings had become much deeper than he initially anticipated.
I didn’t think at the beginning that [the relationship] would be this strong, that I would fall in love with her. I didn’t expect it, honestly. But after a while, I felt that she was the woman of my life.”
The couple subsequently built a life together while supporting Ronaldo’s football career and raising their children.
Rodríguez previously opened up about Ronaldo’s proposal during a December 2025 interview with Elle Spain.
She said she was completely surprised when Ronaldo proposed, explaining that marriage was not something she expected at that particular moment.
Rodríguez also recalled being overwhelmed by the size of the engagement ring Ronaldo gave her.
She said it took her time to process the “enormous stone” and joked about the length of time she had waited for the proposal.
It’s the least he could offer me after 10 years of waiting.”
She described the ring as “gorgeous” and said she was eventually able to appreciate the significance of the moment.
The wedding marks a new chapter for one of the world's most prominent celebrity couples.
After years together, raising their children and navigating personal triumphs and tragedy in the public eye, Ronaldo and Rodríguez have now formalised their relationship with a civil marriage in Portugal.
Ronaldo’s simple “C❤️G” wedding post offered fans a brief but significant confirmation of the couple’s long-awaited union.
