Baba Sadiq Meets Heirs Holdings CEO to Explore Ghana–Nigeria Investment Partnerships

Ghana is seeking to deepen investment and economic cooperation with Nigeria following a meeting between H.E. Baba Sadiq and Emmanuel Nnorom, Group Chief Executive Officer of Heirs Holdings, in Lagos.

The meeting, held on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, brought together Baba Sadiq and the executive management team of Heirs Holdings to explore opportunities for stronger investment partnerships between the two countries.

Discussions focused on key areas of economic development, including infrastructure, government-backed development initiatives, investment policy reforms and support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Infrastructure development featured prominently in the discussions, alongside Ghana’s Big Push initiative and the 24-Hour Accelerated Development Programme.

The engagement provided an opportunity to explore how Heirs Holdings could participate in Ghana’s development agenda and identify areas where private-sector investment could support economic growth and job creation.

Investment policy reforms were also discussed, reflecting the importance of creating an environment that attracts investors and facilitates stronger commercial partnerships between Ghanaian and Nigerian businesses.

The meeting also considered opportunities to support small and medium-sized enterprises through the Tony Elumelu Foundation, which promotes entrepreneurship and business development across Africa.

SMEs play an important role in employment creation, innovation and economic activity. Stronger collaboration in entrepreneurship development could help expand opportunities for business owners and strengthen commercial ties between the two countries.

During the engagement, Baba Sadiq commended Heirs Holdings for its investments in Ghana and acknowledged the Group’s contribution to economic activity in the country.

He also extended an invitation to the company to participate in the maiden Ghana–Nigeria Summit and the Ghana@70 celebrations scheduled to take place in Nigeria.

The proposed engagements are intended to provide platforms for strengthening bilateral relations, promoting investment opportunities and encouraging closer cooperation between businesses and institutions in both countries.

Heirs Holdings’ participation could create further opportunities for dialogue between public- and private-sector stakeholders on investment, entrepreneurship and shared development priorities.

Ghana and Nigeria maintain longstanding economic, commercial and cultural ties, with opportunities for further cooperation in infrastructure, enterprise development and private-sector investment.

The meeting with Heirs Holdings forms part of efforts to encourage greater engagement with investors and explore partnerships that could support Ghana’s development priorities.

Further details on specific investment commitments or agreements arising from the meeting were not provided in the announcement.
