The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has successfully brought under control a commercial fire outbreak at the Coral Paint Headquarters in Adabraka, preventing what could have been a major destruction of property in the area.
According to the fire service, personnel from the Industrial Area Fire Station responded promptly after receiving a distress call via the Fire Master Control at about 12:38 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026.
Fire crews arrived at the scene within minutes, at approximately 12:49 p.m., and discovered that the blaze had already spread to a recording studio located on the second floor of the building.
Preliminary investigations by the GNFS indicate that the fire may have been triggered by an electrical fault, although a full assessment is still underway to determine the exact cause.
Firefighters were able to bring the situation under control by 1:46 p.m. and completely extinguished the remaining flames within three minutes, preventing further spread to other sections of the facility.
The incident resulted in damage to parts of the studio, including wooden décor and several pieces of recording equipment within the affected area.
Despite the damage, the GNFS confirmed that no injuries or fatalities were recorded, as all occupants were safely evacuated or managed to escape the building in time.
The swift response by firefighters helped contain the blaze and minimise structural and financial losses to the commercial property.
Authorities are expected to continue investigations into the cause of the fire while also assessing the extent of damage sustained at the facility.
The GNFS has reiterated its call for regular electrical safety checks in commercial buildings to reduce the risk of fire outbreaks, which remain a recurring concern in urban centres.
