Sammy Gyamfi Celebrates 37th Birthday with Major Donations to Schools and Hospitals Across Ghana

Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress and CEO of GoldBod Ghana, marked his 37th birthday in a uniquely charitable way by donating essential items to vulnerable groups in Accra. His gesture touched both education and healthcare sectors, highlighting his commitment to social responsibility and community development.

Key Donations and Beneficiaries

  • Dzorwulu Special School:
Mr. Gyamfi personally visited the school, where he donated a large quantity of food items, including rice, bottled water, cooking oil, and soft drinks, to support the students’ nutritional needs. The donations also included stationery and other educational materials to assist with learning.
In addition, he announced that the school would soon receive a brand-new school bus, aimed at improving transportation for students who face challenges commuting to school. School authorities praised the initiative, describing it as a “timely and impactful intervention” for the students and staff.
  • Korle Bu Teaching Hospital – Department of Child Health:
His philanthropy extended to one of Ghana’s premier healthcare institutions. Mr. Gyamfi provided essential items to support both patients and healthcare staff, including medical supplies, food, and hygiene products.
Hospital staff expressed gratitude, noting that such contributions not only help meet immediate needs but also boost morale among staff caring for critically ill children.

Motivation Behind the Gesture

Speaking during his visits, Mr. Gyamfi said that celebrating his birthday would not feel complete without sharing his blessings with the less fortunate, especially children with special needs and vulnerable patients.

“I believe that a birthday is not just a personal celebration but an opportunity to give back to society. These children and young patients have inspired me, and I wanted to make a meaningful contribution to their daily lives,” he said.

The initiative underscores his dedication to social impact and community service, aligning with broader efforts by Ghanaian leaders and private sector figures to support education and healthcare for marginalized groups.

Impact and Reception

The donations have been widely applauded by school authorities, healthcare professionals, and the public, who see the gesture as an example of how public figures can leverage personal milestones to effect positive change.
Community members noted that the new school bus and food supplies would significantly enhance the school’s daily operations, while the hospital donations would improve the well-being of both staff and patients.

Mr. Gyamfi’s birthday celebration serves as a model for socially responsible leadership, demonstrating that philanthropy can be an integral part of personal and professional milestones.
