The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana National Gas Limited Company (Ghana Gas), Ms. Judith Adjobah Blay, has paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo, as both institutions seek to deepen collaboration and enhance efficiency within Ghana’s petroleum downstream sector.
The meeting, held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, forms part of ongoing engagements between the two state institutions aimed at strengthening strategic cooperation, improving regulatory coordination, and supporting the sustainable growth of Ghana’s energy industry.
The visit follows an initial meeting held in August 2025, during which both organisations explored areas of mutual interest and identified opportunities for collaboration to advance Ghana’s petroleum and gas sectors.
Tuesday’s discussions focused on measures to facilitate the smooth operations of Ghana Gas, strengthen institutional cooperation, and ensure that both entities work closely together in serving industry players operating within the downstream petroleum market.
Speaking during the meeting, Ms. Judith Adjobah Blay underscored the importance of regular engagements between strategic institutions within the energy sector.
According to her, continuous dialogue is necessary to align operational priorities and improve service delivery to businesses that rely on both organisations.
“Following the meeting we had in August last year, we agreed to meet again and discuss a few more technical issues that have a bearing on the work of NPA and Ghana Gas,” she said.
She noted that both institutions play critical roles in supporting businesses within the energy value chain and must therefore maintain strong communication channels to ensure effective coordination.
“This is because we serve businesses, and sometimes these meetings are very necessary to be held often so that we can be on the same page as to how we serve these companies that come to us,” she added.
Responding to the remarks, Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo expressed appreciation to Ghana Gas for the visit and reaffirmed the National Petroleum Authority’s commitment to supporting the company’s operations.
He assured the Ghana Gas leadership that the NPA would continue to execute its regulatory mandate in a manner that promotes efficiency and removes operational bottlenecks within the sector.
“I personally want to thank the CEO of Ghana Gas for the visit, and we want to assure that NPA will return the favour,” he stated.
“We will intensify our operational efforts in areas that we need to, to make your work less difficult and ensure that your operations move on smoothly.”
Mr. Tameklo further indicated that both organisations had reached important understandings that would strengthen their working relationship and benefit Ghana’s petroleum industry.
“I am sure that we have agreed on decisions that will benefit both organisations collectively, and the NPA will deliver on its part of the bargain for the greater good of our sector,” he added.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong partnership between Ghana Gas and the National Petroleum Authority and highlighted their shared commitment to promoting operational excellence, regulatory efficiency, and sustainable development within Ghana’s energy sector.
Industry observers say stronger collaboration between the two institutions could enhance coordination across the petroleum value chain, improve service delivery to industry operators, and contribute to the long-term growth and stability of Ghana’s downstream petroleum and natural gas industries.
As Ghana continues to expand its energy infrastructure and attract investment into the sector, partnerships between key institutions such as Ghana Gas and the NPA are expected to play a crucial role in driving innovation, efficiency, and economic growth.
