The move comes as the Service launches a formal investigation into the incident to establish the facts and determine the appropriate course of action.
In a statement signed by the Head of Public Relations at GES, Daniel Fenyi, the Service confirmed that it had become aware of the video and had immediately initiated steps to investigate the allegations.
According to the statement, management of the Ghana Education Service is treating the matter with urgency due to its serious nature and the potential implications for student welfare and professional conduct within the education sector.
“Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has become aware of a disturbing video of an alleged sexual misconduct circulating on social media involving a teacher and a student of Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region,” the statement said.

“Management strongly condemns all forms of amorous relationships between teachers and students. The Service reiterates its zero-tolerance towards sexual misconduct and cautions all staff to uphold the highest standards of professional ethics and conduct at all times,” the statement noted.
The Service emphasized that any behavior that compromises the safety, dignity, or well-being of students will not be tolerated.
GES assured parents, guardians, students, and the general public that it remains committed to protecting learners across educational institutions nationwide.
The Service stressed that creating safe and secure learning environments remains a key priority and that all allegations involving student welfare are treated with the seriousness they deserve.
Education authorities have pledged to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation while ensuring due process is followed.
The Ghana Education Service indicated that any individual found culpable after investigations are completed will face the appropriate sanctions.
These could include disciplinary measures under GES regulations as well as legal action where applicable.
The Service urged education professionals across the country to remain mindful of their responsibilities and adhere strictly to ethical standards governing the teaching profession.
