Residents of Koforidua and surrounding communities in the Eastern Region are expected to experience a temporary interruption in potable water supply on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, as Ghana Water Limited (GWL) undertakes scheduled maintenance works at the Bukunor Water Treatment Plant.
The disruption is expected to last for 17 hours, from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., during which maintenance activities will be carried out at the treatment facility.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, November 3, Management of Ghana Water Limited in the Eastern Region said the exercise forms part of routine maintenance works intended to ensure the continued efficient operation of the plant.
GWL has advised residents and other affected customers to store enough water ahead of the scheduled shutdown to minimise the inconvenience to households, businesses and other daily activities.
The company said water supply would resume after the maintenance works had been completed.
It also apologised for the inconvenience the temporary interruption may cause and appealed to residents to cooperate with the exercise.
The scheduled maintenance is expected to support the continued operation of the Bukunor Water Treatment Plant and the delivery of potable water to communities served by the facility.
