Price of sachet water to rise to GH¢15 per bag from April 6

The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers has announced an increase in the price of sachet water, attributing the adjustment to rising production costs driven by global supply challenges.

The new pricing, effective Monday, April 6, comes amid a significant surge in the cost of raw materials, particularly polymers, due to international market disruptions. NASPAWAP highlighted that the ongoing conflict in Iran has exacerbated shortages of key inputs, making it difficult for producers to maintain current prices.

Under the revised structure, the ex-factory price for a bag of 30 sachets (500ml each) is set at GH¢8, while the ex-truck price will be GH¢10. The maximum retail price is capped at GH¢15 per bag.

NASPAWAP urged distributors, retailers, and consumers to adhere to the new pricing, stressing that the adjustment is necessary to sustain production and ensure the continued availability of safe drinking water across the country.
